Have you had an "Ahh Hah moment" in math? That means that something that used to be confusing suddenly makes sense. For example, Mrs. Speaks told me a few years ago during a teacher training day that whenever she has to multiply by 25 she thinks in terms of quarters. That made sense to me and I have been doing it that way ever since. What have you learned about math that makes sense to you?
It was kind of fun trying to identify different kinds of soil and watching the piece of chalk chemically erode. Tell me what you have learned about soil, weathering, and erosion so far. Have you seen any examples of weathering and erosion around the school or your house? Tell us about them.
Hi, my name is Mrs. Elder. I like to spend time with my family and friends on the weekends. We like to go on bike rides, eat pizza, and go to parks. In the winter time we sometimes go to Outdoor Adventures to go swimming. It is hard for me to choose a favorite subject. I absolutely LOVE to read. I like fiction and nonfiction. I also love math and science because I love finding out why things work and using that information to solve problems. I am also fascinated by our country's history so I like learning about social studies as well.
