Wow!!! I really had a blast while we were at camp. Even though it was a little cold and rainy, it was still awesome. My favorite memory was when the 5th graders went canoeing in the rain. We walked into the dining hall looking like we had all tipped our canoes. Our host, Adam, was also great. It was cool to hear him talk with his British accent. Getting to hold the reptiles was sweet. The food was great and I just loved being able to "hang out" with everyone. Please leave your comments on the trip and don't forget to look at the photos on our website.
Wow! I really felt frightened when we went through the underground railroad simulation. How did you feel as you were "escaping". I was appalled at the contraptions they used to contain the slaves that they showed in the photos. I really do not understand how people could treat other people so inhumanely. What did you learn from the trip?
Who wants to go to college now? What a great day we had yesterday. Let's talk about what you liked best about the trip. Do you have any new goals or aspiration? Remember to blog in a collegiate manner.
I just love learning about history. Our country has many come a long way. If really do wonder what happen to the people from Roanoke. The part of American History that we are studying now leaves a pit in my stomach. It is hard to believe that people would actually treat other people like objects that you can own. Tell me what you are thinking about the things we have learned so far. PLEASE remember to use academic vocabulary. I better not see anymore lower case "i's" either unless they are in the middle of words. This is 5th grade. Our spelling and grammar needs to be "kicked up 10 notches".
Please tell me what you learned today about dividing decimals. Remember to "speak the math language". You will only get all 3 points for today if you have at least 3 sentences, use math vocabulary, and make me under
It is fun to experiment with force and motion. Newton must have had fun trying to do experiments to prove his "laws" of motion. Tell me what you have learned or know about force and motion. What questions do you have? Remember to use academic language and English. You still need to capitalize when necessary and use proper punctuation. Remember you are in 5th grade.
Let's talk about space!!! Don't you think it amazing that there are so many other planets and suns out there that are so much bigger than our Earth and Sun? What questions do you still have about our solar system? What was your favorite part?
It is interesting learning about the first people in our country. It is also sad to think that there are not very many Native Americans left because they were pushed out and sometimes killed off. The thing about them blowing up dead seals with air to keep whales from going back down into the ocean is cool. What do you think is the most interesting we have learned about Native Americans so far?
Mrs. Elder Welcome to our class blog site. We will try to keep it updated as much as possible. This week we are getting ready to take the Language Arts MEAP test. I just know we will do well because we have been preparing for over a month. Let's talk! Write some comments about your short term goals for this week.
My short term goal: I made it!! (My goal was to get caught up in grading all of your work.) I accomplished my goal this weekend. My new short term goal: To make arrangements to take my daughter out on a mother/daughter date by this weekend. (Mrs. Elder) |
