Have you had an "Ahh Hah moment" in math? That means that something that used to be confusing suddenly makes sense. For example, Mrs. Speaks told me a few years ago during a teacher training day that whenever she has to multiply by 25 she thinks in terms of quarters. That made sense to me and I have been doing it that way ever since. What have you learned about math that makes sense to you?

Well what i am going to say is almost exactly the same as Mrs. elder's comment. Well when I had Mrs. Speaks and maybe some other teachers tell me that, to remember 1/4 as a fraction remember it as quarters. Like 4/4 is 4 quarters and 2 quarters is 2/4 and the rest. That's how math make sense to me.

Mrs. Elder also what is helpful is number strings, it helps because it is just power of 10ing the number.

What makes sense to me about math is that, there are so many stertagies to use in math to get your answer. The best way i like to solve my math problems is too use compisation (Which is to add back to your answer how many you subtract to make your number friendly). Its just the easiest way.

I like all the math strategies especially, break apart and think-up. I think math actually makes sense, since I've heard of old school, our new strategies are way more better.

Wow what I think is interesting is that Thhe partial quotient has all the operations.

Wow, this days we've been learning, partial quotient. It is so really easy now that we've been studying partial quotient a lot. Now, that we know partial product with low numbers, we could/should probably challenge ourselves and go bigger with the dividend and divisor.

What do you think is the most interesting thing in math that makes sense? Well, for me Math really Makes Sense and why? Well have you seen old school subtraction, as Mrs. Elder said her former kids had did old school subtraction and they had to carry and they got confused and didn't get the right answer. Now theirs strategies like, think-up, break-apart, compensation, etc,. That's how math makes sense!!!!!!
